A phase 3 clinical trial was conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of dostarlimab, an immune-checkpoint inhibitor, in combination with chemotherapy for the treatment of endometrial cancer. The trial involved 494 patients with advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer who were randomly assigned to receive either dostarlimab or placebo in addition to chemotherapy. The primary endpoints were progression-free survival and overall survival. Results showed that dostarlimab plus chemotherapy significantly increased progression-free survival compared to placebo, with a greater benefit observed in patients with mismatch repair–deficient, microsatellite instability–high tumors. However, the incidence of severe and serious adverse events was higher in the dostarlimab group than in the placebo group.
