This systematic review evaluated the effects of delayed versus early enteral feeding in spinal cord injury (SCI) patients. Four studies were included, with no high-quality evidence showing worsened outcomes with early feeding. One study indicated improved neurological outcomes with early feeding as part of a broader care bundle. There were no significant differences in infection rates or mortality. Overall, no clear evidence supports the harm or benefit of early enteral feeding as an isolated strategy.
