This retrospective cohort study evaluated whether early tumor necrosis factor inhibitor (TNFi) therapy reduces chronic opioid use among adults with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) using MarketScan data. Early TNFi initiation was not linked to lower risk of long-term opioid use, suggesting that timing of biologic therapy may not independently reduce opioid dependence in axSpA patients.
