This study investigated the complications of teeth adjacent to dental implants in the posterior region. The study included 1072 patients and found that 16.7% of patients experienced complications in adjacent teeth. Secondary caries was the most common complication, and smoking and a higher number of implants were identified as predisposing factors for secondary caries. Tooth cracks and fractures were related to osteoporosis, and males were more prone to teeth fracture. Tooth mobility was related to a higher number of implants. Good understanding and proper positioning of implants are essential to avoid complications in adjacent teeth.
