Effect of the postpartum hemorrhage intervention package implementation in a fourth‐level hospital in Latin America

This study evaluated the effectiveness of intervention packages for managing postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) in pregnant women admitted to a High Obstetric Complexity Unit in a Latin American country. The retrospective cohort study included 602 patients between January 2011 and December 2019. The study identified three periods based on management strategies. The results showed that in period 3, there was a significant reduction in the incidence of massive PPH, major surgery, and admission to the intensive care unit (ICU). The implementation of PPH intervention packages in this middle-income Latin American hospital resulted in improved outcomes for pregnant women with PPH.
