Amid the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, a study assessed the impact on Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2D) patients' care over three years. Analyzing 999 patients, it found improved glycemic control by 15.2-42.3%, though LDL-C and systolic BP control decreased. However, diastolic BP and albuminuria control improved. Those contracting SARS-CoV-2 showed higher metabolic parameter variability. Diabetic neuropathy (3.6%) and ischemic heart disease (1.1%) were prevalent complications. The findings underline the importance of adaptable healthcare systems, maintaining T2D control amidst pandemics, albeit with increased variability.
