The trial, spanning 97 sites in North America and Europe, randomly assigned patients to XEN1101 (25, 20, or 10 mg) or placebo for 8 weeks. The primary endpoint was the percent change in monthly FOS frequency, showing a significant dose-dependent reduction with XEN1101. The treatment was well-tolerated, with no reported fatalities, supporting further clinical development.

Omalizumab and newer therapies such as dupilumab and remibrutinib expand options for refractory disease, while future care may be guided by biomarkers and disease endotypes.
