The systematic review examined the effectiveness of internet-mediated telerehabilitation compared to traditional pulmonary rehabilitation in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) patients. Despite variations, functional exercise capacity and quality of life were consistently assessed, with outcomes comparable to conventional care. The telerehabilitation approach demonstrated high adherence and safety levels. The findings suggest that telerehabilitation is a secure method that enhances and sustains functional exercise capacity and quality of life in COPD patients, making it an equivalent choice to traditional outpatient rehabilitation. However, the study highlighted the absence of a standardized approach in therapy composition and technology utilization, indicating the need for future developments in this area. Addressing these issues would further optimize the efficacy and implementation of telehealth rehabilitation for COPD patients.
