
A recent study has revealed a potential breakthrough in the treatment of chronic congestive heart failure (CHF) through a unique exercise technique. The study tested the effects of diastolic-phase synchronized walking in CHF patients with cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) pacemakers. The results demonstrated that diastolic walking led to higher stroke volume, increased cardiac output, and reduced mean arterial pressure compared to systolic walking. These findings suggest that incorporating cardio-locomotor coupling technology into pacemakers could enhance CRT efficiency, potentially improving the quality of life for CHF patients.
