The trial investigated the efficacy of adintrevimab, an extended half-life monoclonal antibody, in treating mild to moderate COVID-19 in high-risk ambulatory patients. Despite reduced activity against Omicron variants, the study found that adintrevimab significantly reduced COVID-19-related hospitalization or death by 66% compared to placebo. The incidence of adverse events was similar between the treatment and placebo groups, and no serious adverse events related to adintrevimab were reported. Overall, a single intramuscular adintrevimab injection effectively prevented severe outcomes in eligible COVID-19 patients.
