The study compared the effectiveness of dupilumab and functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) in treating chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). Involving 724 participants, it found that FESS initially offered better outcomes in nasal congestion, polyp reduction, and symptom improvement. However, after one year, the effects of dupilumab became comparable to FESS, with the dupilumab group showing greater improvement in olfactory function. The findings suggest that while FESS provides faster relief, dupilumab’s benefits are sustained over time.
