A new study evaluates the effectiveness of low-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and intermittent Theta Burst Stimulation (iTBS) in treating Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3), the most common subtype of SCA. After 10 sessions of rTMS over two weeks, the active rTMS groups showed significant improvement in reducing ataxia symptoms compared to the sham group. Both 1 Hz rTMS and iTBS effectively improved ataxia symptoms in SCA3 patients.
