A multicenter retrospective cohort study assessed the impact of overweight, obesity, and metabolic disorders on glomerular filtration decline (GFD) in cadaveric kidney transplant recipients. The study analyzed data from 1260 participants and found that overweight/obesity and metabolic disorders correlated with an increased risk of GFD. The metabolically healthy obese subgroup had a higher risk. Components of metabolic disorder, except elevated triglyceride, were linked to GFD. The study emphasizes the need for larger, longer-term studies to validate these findings.
