
Pune-based Enzene Biosciences has launched Ranibizumab, a biosimilar to Lucentis, for treating neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The recombinant Fab is the company's seventh biosimilar, demonstrating comparable efficacy in Phase 3 clinical studies and produced using Enzene's MAR system in Pune. CEO Dr. Himanshu Gadgil highlights the success of Ranibizumab, underscoring the company's expertise in biosimilar development and its EnzeneX platform for continuous manufacturing. Enzene is advancing three more biosimilars, collaborating with Theramex for a Prolia biosimilar in Europe, and expanding into synthetic peptides, with plans for rapid international market growth, including the US.
