The study evaluated the histopathological and inflammatory characteristics of sinonasal inverted papilloma (SNIP) compared to chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNPs) and normal ethmoid sinus mucosa. Among 38 SNIP cases, 21.1%, 36.8%, 23.7%, and 18.4% were classified as grades I, II, III, and IV, respectively. SNIPs exhibited significantly higher p63 and CK5 expression than the control groups (p < 0.05). Additionally, neutrophil and macrophage infiltration, alongside elevated levels of inflammatory cytokines, were more pronounced in SNIP. A positive correlation between p63 expression and inflammatory markers was noted, highlighting the role of excessive epithelial remodeling and inflammation in SNIP.
