Erythropoietic response after intravenous iron in patients with heart failure and reduced ejection fraction with and without background treatment with sodium–glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors

Investigating the effect of IV iron treatment on haemoglobin, haematocrit, and iron biomarkers in HFrEF patients, this retrospective study compares outcomes in those treated with and without SGLT2 inhibitors. SGLT2i users demonstrated significantly greater increases in haemoglobin (+0.57 g/dl) and haematocrit (+1.64%), indicating a potential erythropoietic synergy.
