Estimated minimum prices and lowest available national prices for antiobesity medications: Improving affordability and access to treatment

A study reviewed the current costs of antiobesity medications and calculated potential estimated minimum prices (EMPs). The study found that national prices of antiobesity medications were significantly higher than calculated EMPs. Some treatments could be generically manufactured at very low costs per course, while others were more expensive. The study highlights the need for more affordable access to these medications for those in need.
