Evaluation of Retroperitoneal Masses in Testicular Cancer Patients

Testicular germ cell tumors (GCTs) often require careful management post-chemotherapy. For seminomas, residual masses frequently resolve spontaneously, but FDG PET is recommended for evaluation. Nonseminomas, however, require surgical resection for masses over 1 cm, with FDG PET being less useful. Teratoma poses risks if untreated, including complications and relapse. Effective management of residual masses is essential for optimizing treatment and improving outcomes.
