
The ESCAPE-MeVO trial evaluated endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) for medium-vessel occlusion stroke in 530 patients. At 90 days, good functional outcomes (Rankin score 0-1) were similar between EVT (41.6%) and usual care (43.1%, P=0.61). Mortality (13.3% vs. 8.4%) and hemorrhage (5.4% vs. 2.2%) were higher in the EVT group. EVT did not improve outcomes over usual care.
