ExoDx prostate test as a predictor of outcomes of high-grade prostate cancer – an interim analysis

A study evaluated the patient outcomes of the ExoDx Prostate (EPI) test in a prostate biopsy Decision Impact Trial. The trial involved 1,049 men aged 50 years or older with a PSA level of 2-10 ng/mL who were being considered for a prostate biopsy. The patients were randomly assigned to receive either the EPI test or standard of care (SOC). At 2.5 years, it was found that the EPI test effectively identified low-risk patients, leading to lower biopsy rates and longer time to first biopsy compared to high-risk patients. Furthermore, patients with low-risk EPI scores had a significantly lower risk of high-grade prostate cancer compared to those with high-risk EPI scores. The EPI test demonstrated improved risk stratification compared to the SOC.
