The International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation conducted a randomized superiority trial called ARREST to investigate expedited delivery to cardiac arrest centers versus standard care after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest without ST elevation. Between January 15, 2018, and December 1, 2022, 862 patients were enrolled. The primary outcome, 30-day mortality, occurred in 63% of patients in both groups, showing no significant difference. Serious adverse events were rare and unrelated to the intervention. This study concludes that expedited transfer to a cardiac arrest center did not reduce deaths in adult patients without ST elevation following resuscitated cardiac arrest.
