A recent case–control study investigated specific circRNAs associated with pediatric obesity through literature review, qRT–PCR, and bioinformatics analyses. The study identified hsa_circ_0046367 and hsa_circ_0000284 as statistically downregulated and upregulated in obese children's peripheral blood mononuclear cells. The circRNAs were validated as independent indicators of increased CHD risk, with combined analysis exhibiting clinical application potential. The study suggests that hsa_circ_0046367 and hsa_circ_0000284 play a role in neural plasticity mechanisms related to pediatric obesity, providing insights for further epigenetic mechanism studies.
