Factors affecting pediatric nurses’ development of partnerships with parents of hospitalized children: An evaluation based on the stress-coping adaptation model

A recent study published in the Journal of Child Health Care aimed to explore the factors influencing pediatric nurses' perceptions of their partnerships with parents of hospitalized children. The study, conducted in South Korea, involved 209 pediatric nurses with at least one year of clinical experience. Data was collected through online questionnaires, which assessed nurses' perceived partnerships with parents, job stress, positive psychological capital, nursing professionalism, and coping mechanisms. The findings revealed that positive psychological capital, job stress, coping abilities, hospital type, and unit type were significant factors in determining nurses' perceived partnerships. The study suggests that interventions targeting nurses' partnership competency should focus on reducing job stress, improving coping skills, and enhancing positive psychological capital.
