A recent study examined the impact of fast-food outlet exposure on body mass index (BMI) and BMI changes and whether this association is influenced by age and genetic predisposition. The study found that individuals with one or more fast-food outlets nearby had higher BMIs, while those with two or more outlets experienced greater increases in BMI. The effects were most pronounced among young adults, particularly those with medium or high genetic risk scores. These findings highlight the significance of fast-food outlet exposure in determining BMI and its potential interaction with age and genetics.
