Feasibility and Efficacy of a Peer-led Program for Aphasia

The study explored the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy of the Peer-led HS CAG program to address long-term impacts of aphasia. A Phase I, mixed methods design included a pre-post observational quantitative design and qualitative interviews with participants and facilitators. Seven individuals with aphasia participated in a 12-week program, attending weekly two-hour sessions with both compulsory and optional topics. Results indicated that four participants showed meaningful improvements in communication-related quality of life, confirming the program's feasibility and acceptability, with requests for more tailored sessions from close others.
