The rising cost of food and energy in the UK is likely to worsen the obesity epidemic, particularly among those with low incomes who have limited access to affordable and nutritious food. Food insecurity is a growing problem, with a significant increase in households experiencing it since the COVID-19 pandemic. The UK food system currently enables the consumption of cheap, unhealthy processed foods, while healthier options are more expensive. Poor diet is a leading risk factor for various diseases and has a significant impact on all-cause disability-adjusted life years. The authors of the article are part of the FIO-Food project, which aims to provide evidence for policy changes to address dietary inequalities in people living with obesity and food insecurity. Structural changes in the food system are needed to make it healthier, more sustainable, and affordable for everyone.

Among patients with CKD, DCB treatment resulted in a 2-year target lesion failure rate of 23.6%, compared with 30.0% with balloon angioplasty. The treatment effect was consistent across patients with and without CKD, suggesting that baseline renal function did not significantly influence DCB outcomes over 2 years.

Treatment-related infections and life-threatening adverse events were also less frequent, although neurotoxic events were more common with blinatumomab.
