
The microbiome has recently garnered increased attention for its influence on cancer phenotypes. While this has focused largely on bacterial presence, the role of fungi (the mycobiome) in these processes remains largely unexplored. Now, two recent studies published concurrently in Cell have found strong correlative links between the prevalence of fungal DNA and cancer.
