This study aims to enhance the differentiation between allergic and non-allergic Contact Dermatitis (CD) by characterizing the molecular signatures of active CD lesions. Through qRT-PCR analysis of 12 allergy biomarkers in 38 CD patients, two distinct molecular patterns emerged: one resembling reference allergens and the other irritants. Among the "allergy signature" group, 17 patients with confirmed Allergic CD (ACD) were identified, while the remaining 15 patients without biomarker induction displayed non-allergic CD reactions. This molecular profiling of active lesions contributes to the stratification of CD patients, aiding in the prediction of those with allergic contact dermatitis.
