Pre-pregnancy obesity showed inconclusive results. Insufficient weight gain reduced diabetes-related mortality in those with normal pre-pregnancy weight. These findings emphasize the importance of healthy gestational weight gain, at lasting implications for cardiovascular and diabetes-related mortality beyond pregnancy.
