The study analyzed the relationship between gout flare states (PASS, LDA, and non-LDA/PASS) and patient-reported outcomes. In a 12-month RCT, most participants achieved PASS or LDA in the second half of the study. While no association was found between flare states and generic quality of life measures (EQ-5D-3L, HAQ), higher scores for consequences, identity, and concern were observed in patients with more frequent flares.
