In a recent case-controlled cross-sectional study, 18 Bone-Anchored Hearing Implants (BAHI) users and 11 individuals with normal hearing (NH) participated in music perception assessments. The study aimed to gauge the ability of BAHIs to transmit music accurately. Results indicate that BAHI users performed similarly to NH listeners on various musical tasks. When comparing BAHI users' implanted ears to their better-hearing ears and NH controls, no statistically significant differences were observed except in rhythmic timing and basic tempo tasks. This study marks the first comprehensive exploration of music perception in BAHI users, highlighting their competence in major musical elements.
