This scoping review examined existing guidelines and consensus statements on genetic testing in prostate cancer and the level of evidence supporting those recommendations. Out of 660 citations, 23 guidelines and consensus statements met the inclusion criteria. The review found diverse recommendations based on different levels of evidence. There was general agreement on offering genetic testing to men with metastatic disease, but less consensus for localized prostate cancer. Recommendations also varied regarding which genes to test, who to test, and testing methods.

The findings improve understanding of electrolyte abnormalities in PHAII and may guide future therapeutic strategies targeting renal potassium handling.
