Health Disparities in Peripheral Artery Disease: A Scientific Statement From the American Heart Association

The social and clinical effect of PAD includes higher rates of individual disability, depression, minor and major limb amputation, and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events. The reasons behind the inequitable burden of PAD and inequitable care delivery are both multifactorial and complex. This study presents an overview of the myriad variables contributing to PAD disparities and concludes with a summary of potential novel solutions.
