This study explores the link between hearing loss and physical inactivity in older adults, analyzing data from Korea’s National Health Survey. It found that individuals with severe hearing loss were less active and more sedentary compared to those with milder hearing loss or normal hearing. Hearing aid users showed improved physical activity, walking more frequently and for longer durations. Hearing aids can mitigate the negative effects of hearing loss on activity levels.
