The study compared ototoxicity in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) patients receiving induction chemotherapy plus concurrent chemoradiotherapy (iCRT) with cisplatin or carboplatin. Hearing loss peaked 3–6 months post-treatment, with cisplatin causing more high-frequency hearing loss. However, differences diminished by 12–18 months, suggesting that replacing cisplatin with carboplatin may not be necessary.
