
A study examined the role of T cells in chronic apical periodontitis (CAP), a dental condition. The study identified distinct subsets of T cells. Gene set enrichment analysis showed specific biological functions enriched in CAP T cells compared to healthy gingiva. The study also explored potential interactions between T cells and endothelial cells in CAP. They validated the predicted pair of Granzyme A (GZMA) and coagulation factor II thrombin receptor (F2R) using experiments with human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). These findings shed light on the heterogeneity of T cells in periapical lesions and their potential role in regulating angiogenesis.
