High-Density Mapping Reveals Predictors of AF Recurrence

In a study of 63 atrial fibrillation (AF) patients, high-density substrate mapping during sinus and paced rhythms uncovered functional, rhythm-dependent conduction abnormalities. These abnormalities, especially those linked to extra-cardiac structures, were predictive of AF recurrence following catheter ablation. The presence of these functional phenomena was identified as an independent risk factor for AF recurrence.
