High Prevalence of Anxiety, Depression, PTSD in ICU Survivors

ICU survivors of COVID-19 commonly experience anxiety, depression, and PTSD symptoms up to 12 months post-discharge. At 3, 6, and 12 months, 28.8%, 25.1%, and 43.5% of patients experienced anxiety, depression, and PTSD, respectively. Risk factors included a prior mental health diagnosis, unemployment, and respiratory conditions like asthma or COPD. These findings highlight the prolonged psychological impact on ICU survivors and the need for ongoing mental health support.
