Higher Antioxidant Intake Linked to Lower Infertility Risk in Women

A study found a significant negative correlation between the composite dietary antioxidant index (CDAI) and female infertility. Among 3,259 women aged 20-45, those in the highest CDAI quartile had a 44% lower risk of infertility compared to those in the lowest quartile (OR = 0.56, 95% CI: 0.36–0.85, P = 0.0072). Smoothed curve fitting revealed a negative non-linear relationship between CDAI and infertility, with BMI influencing this association (P = 0.0497). These findings suggest that increased intake of antioxidant-rich foods may reduce the risk of infertility.
