The study found that higher estimated glucose disposal rate (eGDR) was linked to lower risks of myocardial infarction, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and ischemic stroke in 360,953 UK Biobank participants over 13.8 years. eGDR outperformed other insulin resistance markers in predicting cardiovascular events, with area under the curve values between 0.646 and 0.690.
