Hemodialysis (HD) patients face increased mortality and morbidity from infective endocarditis (IE) compared to the general population. The study 139 IE patients (34 HD, 105 non-HD) from 2006 to 2018. HD patients showed distinct clinical features, including higher rates of diabetes, hypertension, right valve involvement, larger vegetation, and extracardiac emboli. In-hospital mortality for HD patients was 41.2%, significantly higher than non-HD patients (14.3%), even after valve surgery. This underscores the urgent need for tailored prevention and management strategies for IE in the HD population.
