This study explored child behaviors that enable mothers to perceive their child's minds. Participants responded with mind perceptions for various entities, including their children (a 0–2-year-old). Further, to examine child-related behaviors that may influence mothers' perceptions of their children's minds, the authors asked them which actions made them perceive what their babies had in mind. The study found that mothers perceived their children as having minds similar to their own while working women without children perceived 0–2-year-old children as different from themselves. In addition, mothers' perceptions of their children's minds were associated with child-related behaviors that made communication possible. Thus, this study identified essential milestones of child development by examining the mother's point of view regarding their children's minds.

Chronic urticaria is a heterogeneous mast cell-driven disease with major effects on quality of life. Current care emphasizes diagnosis, limited targeted testing, disease monitoring and stepwise treatment, beginning with second-generation H1-antihistamines and up-dosing when needed. Omalizumab and newer therapies such as dupilumab and remibrutinib expand options for refractory disease, while future care may be guided by biomarkers and disease endotypes.

A study found that the peak amplitude of infraslow oscillations in sleep spindle activity was significantly reduced in people with Alzheimer’s disease, while frequency and bandwidth remained preserved. A systematic review and meta-analysis of 83 studies involving 4,603 patients found variable cure rates with systemic treatments for cutaneous leishmaniasis. Pooled cure rates were highest with liposomal amphotericin B (77%) and miltefosine (75%), compared with 59% for meglumine antimoniate. However, limited comparative evidence highlights the need for species-specific, high-quality randomized trials.

A post hoc analysis of the ANNEXa-I trial involving 434 patients with factor Xa inhibitor-associated intracerebral hemorrhage found that 72.1% had at least one non-contrast CT marker of hematoma expansion risk. Heterogeneous density, hypodensity, and the black hole sign were independently associated with hematoma expansion, supporting their use for early risk assessment.

A meta-analysis of five randomized controlled trials found that as-needed ICS–SABA significantly reduced asthma exacerbations compared with SABA-only reliever therapy. ICS–SABA lowered exacerbation rates and the risk of experiencing at least one exacerbation by 31%, while extending time to first exacerbation and reducing systemic corticosteroid exposure by about 39 mg, without increasing adverse events.

An exploratory study found that the teach-back method, supported by multimodal communication strategies, improved understanding during a simulated informed-consent process among people with aphasia. Cataract was the leading cause, followed by trauma-related ocular disease, glaucoma, and corneal opacity.
