Hypoxia‐induced tumor exosomes promote angiogenesis through miR‐1825/TSC2/mTOR axis in oral squamous cell carcinoma

A new study discovered that miR-1825, found in exosomes derived from oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), significantly promotes angiogenesis, even under hypoxic conditions. In laboratory tests using human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs), the study found that both miR-1825 alone and within OSCC-derived exosomes enhanced endothelial cell viability, migration, invasion, and angiogenic potential. However, inhibiting miR-1825 expression reversed these effects. The study also revealed that miR-1825 within OSCC-derived exosomes disrupted the TSC2/mTOR axis, contributing to altered angiogenesis in HUVECs.
