This study explored the application of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) in assisted reproductive technology (ART) cycles without a clear male factor infertility. While ICSI has gained popularity in cases of non-male factor infertility, studies suggest that it offers no advantages over conventional in-vitro fertilization (IVF). Insufficient evidence exists to support ICSI in cases of poor ovarian response, a low number of oocytes, or advanced maternal age. ICSI is more operator-dependent and invasive, thus should be limited to cases of male-factor infertility. The study also discussed the potential increased risk of birth defects associated with ICSI, though further research is needed.

Current care emphasizes diagnosis, limited targeted testing, disease monitoring and stepwise treatment, beginning with second-generation H1-antihistamines and up-dosing when needed. Omalizumab and newer therapies such as dupilumab and remibrutinib expand options for refractory disease, while future care may be guided by biomarkers and disease endotypes.

However, limited comparative evidence highlights the need for species-specific, high-quality randomized trials.
