A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted to determine the impact of FIGO type 3 myomas (uterine fibroids) on in vitro fertilization (IVF) outcomes. The study included 1020 patients, with 324 having type 3 myomas and 696 without myomas. The analysis revealed that women with untreated myomas had significantly lower rates of live birth (OR 2.16), clinical pregnancy (OR 2.06), and implantation (OR 1.77) compared to controls. The negative effects of myomas on IVF outcomes were found to be more pronounced with larger and greater numbers of fibroids. Therefore, FIGO type 3 myomas have a detrimental impact on IVF success, which worsens with increased size and number.
