The study explores the effect of HBeAg/anti-HBe coexistence on Peg-IFN-α therapy in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients. It finds that patients with this coexistence have significantly lower HBsAg and HBeAg levels and a higher rate of HBeAg seroconversion after treatment. A nomogram was developed using HBeAg/anti-HBe coexistence and other clinical factors, achieving good predictive performance for HBeAg seroconversion, and offering a valuable tool for identifying favorable candidates for Peg-IFN-α therapy.
