The study compared the results of between-person and within-sibship analyses to evaluate the association between short interpregnancy intervals and preterm delivery. The data were obtained from the National Survey of Family Growth, a representative survey in the USA from 2006-2015. The study found that the association between interpregnancy intervals and preterm delivery was similar when comparing participants included in the within-sibship analysis and those ineligible for the within-sibship analysis but differed from those in the full cohort, possibly due to differences in target populations.
