Impact of lymph node ratio and number of lymph node metastases on survival and recurrence in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma

The study involved 2507 patients with laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma, researchers evaluated the impact of lymph node ratio (LNR) and number of positive lymph nodes (NPLN) on mortality and recurrence rates. They found significant differences in disease-specific survival (DSS) and disease-free survival (DFS) based on LNR and NPLN groups. The 5-year DSS and DFS proved more effective in stratifying patients than pN staging.
