
This study examines the effects of acute ozone exposure (0.8 ppm, 3h) on lung structure, mechanical properties, and immune responses in young, middle-aged, and aged mice, focusing on the role of surfactant protein C (SP-C) mutations. Findings reveal exacerbated lung injury, inflammation, and altered immune responses in aged SP-C mutant mice, emphasizing the increased vulnerability of older populations to environmental stressors like ozone.
