The study investigates the impact of sintering firing cycles on the mechanical properties of zirconia dental restorations, comparing computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) milling and fused deposition modelling (FDM) printing methods. CAD/CAM milled zirconia exhibits superior flexural strength and modulus compared to FDM-printed counterparts. Sintering processes do not significantly affect the mechanical properties of either method. Interestingly, the milled speed sintering group demonstrates higher Vickers Microhardness values. These findings suggest that FDM-printed zirconia may not match the mechanical properties of milled counterparts, and speed sintering may enhance certain aspects of milled zirconia restorations.
